As per request I've done a simple tutorial on how the body comes together. It's chock-a-block full of tips on proportioning and alignment; two things that have greatly helped me refine my own drawing technique.
What, is that you? I was reading what you wrote under the 8 heads drawing. The thing is, I think artists of the human body should learn the ideal first. Until that 8 heads and those proportions are sered into the brain, variations of body are confusing. Trust me, I know. ALL these models on here, all these faces, all the variation. OY VEY.
This is really well done. I recently tried explaining to my friend that the "rule of heads" isn't effective as a tool most of the time. Her characters were ending up out of proportion. She got into a bit of a huff about that. I think I'll show her this.
